The Jersey Homes Trust is run by a board of six Trustees, all of whom are active professional people. 

Philip Le Cornu

Philip Le Cornu

The Chairman of the Trust is Jersey lawyer Philip Le Cornu. Philip was admitted to the English Bar in 1992 and the Jersey Bar in 2002. He was previously a Partner of Ogier, a Group Director of Elian Private Wealth and then head of the Private Wealth business within Intertrust. He more recently worked for a Philanthropic Foundation. He joined the Board of the JHT over ten years ago and became its chairman in January 2022. He has overall responsibility for the proper functioning of the Trust and the coordination of its activities.

Martyn Scriven

Martyn Scriven

Martyn Scriven is the Trust's Deputy Chairman. He was a career banker coming to Jersey in 1994, and retiring from his role as senior Jersey director for Barclays Bank in 2004. Since that time he has continued in pretty much full-time employment and is currently on a number of local boards principally of businesses operating in the private equity and funds sector. He also remains an active sportsman and enjoys supporting Jersey Squash.

Frank Dearie

Frank Dearie

Frank Dearie is the Trust’s Secretary. He has over 35 years’ experience in financial services in Jersey. He was previously with Abacus Financial Services Group and with Royal Bank of Canada. He is now an independent advisor and is non-executive Director on the boards of several leading organisations in Jersey and elsewhere. His role as Secretary within the JHT team includes responsibility for risk, compliance and governance.

Chris Clarke

Chris Clarke

Chris Clarke is the Trust's Development Director. His role includes liaison with developers, architects and other professionals in connection with new schemes. He is also involved in the appointment of consultants and contractors and maintaining records of progress and certifying accounts. Chris recently retired after over 40 years in the construction industry.

Paul Labesse

Paul Labesse

Paul Labesse is a chartered surveyor and runs his own business, Labesse & Company. As a Trustee his role is Estates Director, which involves acting as liaison between the Trustees and the Trust's property managers. This requires him to deal with matters other than day-to-day management issues such as tenant policies, maintenance strategies and management structures.

Ian Moore

Ian Moore

As a Trustee Ian Moore brings with him his skills in accountancy. He is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant and was the founder director of Moore Management. Ian Moore has many years' experience in the finance industry in Jersey and is a former chairman of the Jersey Funds Association and a founding director of Jersey Finance, a company set up by the finance industry and the States of Jersey with responsibility for promoting Jersey as a finance centre.

CONSULTANT

Michael Van Neste, MBE, is a Consultant to the Jersey Homes Trust. Michael established the Trust in 1995 and chaired the Board of Trustees until his retirement in January 2022. He is Chairman of the Cranham Group, a Jersey-based property investment and development group. He was appointed MBE in 2022 for his services to the community in relation to his work with the JHT.
